What's covered by commercial auto insurance
Commercial auto insurance covers many of the same risks as personal auto insurance, such as:
Liability coverage: Covers damages to other vehicles or property in the event of an accident for which you are at fault.
Collision coverage: Covers damages to your commercial vehicle in the event of a collision, regardless of who is at fault.
Comprehensive coverage: Covers damages to your commercial vehicle from events such as theft, vandalism, and weather-related incidents.
Medical payments coverage: Covers medical expenses for you and your passengers in the event of an accident, regardless of who is at fault.
Personal injury protection (PIP): Covers medical expenses and lost wages for you and your passengers in the event of an accident, regardless of who is at fault.
Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage: Covers damages and injuries caused by a driver who does not have insurance or does not have enough insurance to cover the damages.
Cargo coverage: Covers the goods or products being transported by your commercial vehicle.
Trailer interchange coverage: Covers damages to trailers being pulled by your commercial vehicle, even if they do not belong to you.
Non-owned auto coverage: Covers damages or injuries caused by a vehicle that is not owned by your business but is being used for business purposes.
